Three Ways to Use Video in Texting - Guest Post from Campaign HQ

The following blog post was written by the experts at Campaign HQ. Campaign HQ offers live calls, automated calls, and full service texting to help Republicans and Conservatives win elections.

After working with the experts at Winning Republican Strategies to craft a compelling and creative video campaign to help you win your race, it’s time to make sure it gets seen by people who are going to vote, so you can make a connection and turn them out to the polls.

One of the best ways to share your campaign video is through text messaging.

According to polling from Mitto, “Campaign text messages were largely impactful; more than half of the recipients read all or most of the text messages they received from campaigns and nearly one-third reported that their voting decisions were influenced by the text messages.”

Here are three ways you can use video in texting:

  1. Have your candidate make a last minute, direct pitch to voters. Show your authentic self and put your message and candidate directly into the hands of voters right before they go to the polls.

  2. Educate voters about your opponent with a contrast message. Instead of blasting out contrast messages with a bullhorn, carefully craft the exact message you want to get to the exact voters you need to hear it.

  3. Share useful information about how, when, and where to vote. Particularly useful in reaching low propensity voters, ensure voters have all the information they need on how to vote for you or push them to a website to get more information. Use a trackable link so you know which voters clicked and use that data to follow up accordingly.

Texting your video to voters will enable you to keep your message consistent across all channels. No matter where voters look, they’ll be hearing the same effective message from your campaign. Remember, to make the most of your campaign budget, ask your vendor to remove landlines, invalid phone numbers, and people who have already voted.

Sharing your message with voters directly where they are through a text message will make a meaningful impact on the outcome of your race. Not sure where to start? Give us a call. We can help you brainstorm ideas and put together a great plan.
